AURORA and Klangphonics for the first time in Greece

Release Athens 2025 welcomes AURORA and Klangphonics, on Friday July 11th, at Plateia Nerou. The Norwegian art-pop superstar and the fast-rising trio from Germany are coming to Greece for the first time and, together with headliners London Grammar, will present a special night dedicated to all aspects of contemporary pop music.

The 28-year-old AURORA is already one of the most unique voices to emerge from the European scene in the last decade. With over a million albums sold and 2.6 billion streams, she is considered one of the top new acts in the music industry and has gained a huge following around the world thanks to her ethereal vocals and eclectic sound with strong pop and folk influences.

AURORA, who grew up in Bergen, Norway, came to prominence early on with the release of the EP “Running With The Wolves”, setting the stage for an impressive career that has seen her release five great albums and collaborate with the likes of film composer Hans Zimmer and Chemical Brothers, with the latter offering her a pivotal role on their previous album “No Geography”, where she co-wrote and performed three of the album’s highlights.

In 2019, she appeared in the famous animated film “Frozen II”, reaching the Oscars with the song “Into The Unknown”, which she performed with Idina Menzel, while her fourth album, “The Gods We Can Touch” (2022), was a huge success, leading to a sold-out UK tour, including a performance in Hyde Park with Adele.

Her latest release, “What Happened to the Heart?” (2024), finds her experimenting with all forms of contemporary pop and has been acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, resulting in her once again reaching the top 10 of the UK charts.

Now she is preparing for a big summer tour in Asia and Europe, where she will confirm that she is an exciting performer and, above all, one of the most unique cases in the new wave of pop stars conquering the world music scene, combining influences such as Bjork, Kate Bush, Enya and the Cardigans with the most contemporary sounds. We can’t wait to see her for the first time in Greece on the evening of July 11th at Plateia Nerou!

Klangphonics, the innovative electronic music trio formed in Germany in 2017, is redefining the boundaries that separate a live band from a DJ and producer. Maxl Walmsley-Pledl (guitars), Ben Kopfnagel (drums and effects) and Markus Zunic (synths and percussion) met while studying music and have built an impressive career to date following a strict DIY style.

Their debut EP “Songs To Try” (2021) was a huge success, with millions of streams on Spotify, followed by sold-out European tours in 2022 and 2023, culminating a few months earlier in the most important chapter of their career to date, the excellent album “Perfect Opposure”.  Their debut album balances between house and techno, while maintaining a pop aesthetic. This is what makes it stand out and makes Klangphonics one of the best new acts in electronic music.

This year they have planned a huge tour in the USA and Europe (with many dates sold-out) and they are coming to Plateia Nerou to prove that the unique combination of live instruments and electronic sounds can be absolutely danceable and captivating. Their name is already being talked about a lot and the only thing that is certain is that it is going to get even bigger in the near future. On the night of July 11th, we will be able to enjoy them just in time!
