Kylie Minogue, the global superstar at Plateia Nerou
Release Athens 2025 welcomes Kylie Minogue on Friday July 18th at Plateia Nerou. The Australian superstar and ultimate pop icon of the global music scene, from the late 80s to the present day, comes to Athens as part of her epic Tension Tour, the biggest tour she has done in the last 15 years, with sold-out dates in the biggest arenas around the world!
More acts to be announced soon!
Kylie Minogue began her career as an actress, but her radiance and talent couldn’t go unnoticed by the glamorous world of pop, and almost immediately she found herself at the top of the music industry. Now, with over 80 million albums sold, she is not only the biggest selling Australian artist of all time, but also one of the most recognisable faces on the planet, constantly in the news thanks to her undeniable ability to evolve.
With the release of “Tension II” last October, she became the first artist to have at least one album at number one in the UK charts for five consecutive decades. But her greatest achievement is undoubtedly her constant evolution and willingness to experiment with different genres: from the teen pop of “I Should Be So Lucky” and the cover of “The Loco-Motion” to the more alternative sound of the 90s, where she collaborated with the likes of Pet Shop Boys, Manic Street Preachers and Nick Cave, among others, releasing iconic songs like “Confide In Me” and “Where The Wild Roses Grow”, to reach one of the biggest hits of her career in the early 21st century with the release of the timeless single “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”, which topped the charts in over 40 countries and sold over 5 million copies worldwide.
What is most impressive is that Kylie Minogue is continuing her triumphant career today with the same intensity, since in 2024 she won the Global Icon Award at the BRITs, the second Grammy of her career with the smash hit “Padam Padam” for Best Pop Dance Recording and, of course, making history with her performance in Hyde Park in front of 60,000 generation-spanning fans, which was described as “a glorious celebration of pop perfection” (The Guardian) and proved “her unchallengeable place atop the throne” of pop music (“Rolling Stone”).
On Friday July 18th, the Princess of Pop comes to Athens with a spectacular show and a set list full of songs that have influenced the course of contemporary music over the last four decades. Get ready to dance the night away on a performance to remember!
