Every once in a while, a new band comes along that the media designate as “the one that everyone will be talking about”. In the case of SPRINTS this is 100% true.
The Dublin four-piece formed in 2019 and introduced themselves to the public with two compelling EPs, “Manifesto” (2021) and “A Modern Job” (2022). Their fame quickly began to spread in the circles of the post-punk scene (and not only). Now, in 2024, they are having an incredible year. Their debut album “Letter To Self” was celebrated. Garage punk and indie rock full of energy and soul, with the introspective lyrics of singer and main songwriter Karla Chubb speaking of personal trauma, catharsis and resilience.
This was followed by sold out shows in the US and Europe, opening for IDLES and Pixies, playing festivals like Glastonbury and End Of The Road! The release of their fantastic new single “Feast” has only confirmed their momentum and cemented their place in the UK “assault” alongside the likes of IDLES and Fontaines D.C.
On the 18th of June, at Plateia Nerou, we will have the pleasure of enjoying them at the right time!
