Athenian punk rockers The Overjoyed at Release Athens 2024
Release Athens 2024 welcomes The Overjoyed, on Sunday June 9th, at Plateia Nerou. The Athenian punk rockers, who have performed all over the world, will be the perfect start to this summer’s biggest rock ‘n’ roll party, which also features The Offspring, The Subways and Danko Jones.
Formed in Athens in the late ’00s, the Overjoyed quartet released their first EP, “32”, in 2011. This was followed by their debut album ‘Boomdoggle’ (2016), the highly successful ‘Aced Out’ (2019), and last September they released their latest EP “Pressurepop” on the label of 1000mods. In the meantime, they have been touring extensively in Europe, with stops in Spain, Portugal, the UK, Turkey and Germany, while the highlight of the band so far has been their two tours in Japan.
Currently, the band is recording new songs and is preparing to go back out on tour in the fall of 2024.
