Formed in 2013, Cannons consists of Ryan Clapham (lead guitar), Paul Davis (drums, keys) and Michelle Joy (vocals). With an uncanny talent for great melodies and songs equally suited to the legendary Studio 54 or summer festival season, the trio’s four albums – namely “Night Call” (2017), “Shadows” (2019), “Fever Dream” (2022) and “Heartbeat Highway” (2023) – earned critical acclaim from major publications (The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Consequence of Sound, etc.) and a devoted audience.
The most typical example is the absolute pop anthem of the current decade, “Fire For You“, which, after appearing in the hugely successful Netflix shows “Never Have I Ever” and “American Horror Story”, generated nearly a quarter-of-a-billion streams, topped Alternative Radio and landed the group on the roster of Columbia Records. The ethereal “Loving You” received major support from local radio, while their hit list includes “Hurricane”, “Tunnel of You”, “Bad Dream”, “Crush”, “Heartbeat Highway”, “Sweeter”, with many more to come.
At the same time, they have developed into a formidable live force after countless headline shows in addition to lighting up major music festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Life Is Beautiful, Outside Lands and Electric Forest, to name but a few.
