Danko Jones for the first time in Greece
Release Athens 2024 welcomes Danko Jones, on Sunday June 9th, at Plateia Nerou. The relentless trio from Canada is coming to Greece for the first time and together with The Offspring and The Subways they will offer us a night dedicated to pure rock ‘n’ roll.
Formed in Toronto in 1996, Danko Jones have seen and done just about everything over the last quarter of a century.Driven by a DIY punk rock spirit, and inspired by electrified rock ‘n’ roll, they have steadily built a colossal international fan base and become one of the most acclaimed live bands around, touring and performing alongside titans of the global music scene such as Motörhead, The Rolling Stones, OzzyOsbourne, Guns N’ Roses, Sepultura and many more.
Along the way, they have released eleven widely praised studio albums, generating a peerless repertoire of fists-in-the-air crowd-pleasers into the bargain. From the spiky blues of “Born A Lion” (2002) and the crazed power-pop of its follow-up We Sweat Blood (2003), to the flawless “Below The Belt” (2010) and the recent “Electric Sound” (2023), the band’s knack for hitting rock’s sweet spot has never wavered.
On Sunday June 9th, we will welcome them to Plateia Nerou, together with The Offspring and The Subways, for a maximum rock’n’roll night that will open the curtain on Release Athens 2024!
