Release Athens 2022: Photo-story Day 11

It’s going to be a long time before we forget the eleventh day of Release Athens 2022, not only because of the five great performances that the bands of the line-up offered us, but mainly because of the amazing atmosphere created by the crowd that filled Plateia Nerou.

The opening slots belonged to The Silent Rage who set the night on fire early on and Enemy of Reality who captivated us thanks to the magical voice of Iliana Tsakiraki and their loyal audience that came to enjoy them.

The next act was Epica, who proved to everyone why they are considered one of the greatest bands of symphonic metal and gave us a beautiful set with some of their greatest hits, with unforgettable highlights “Beyond the Matrix” and “Consign to Oblivion” at the finale of their performance.

Immediately afterwards, a legendary band take over the stage of Plateia Nerou, the incomparable Blind Guardian, who celebrated 30 years since the release of “Somewhere Far Beyond” by playing the album in its entirety. Among them, “The Bard’s Song – In the Forest” with an epic singalong from their thousands of fans, and a sweeping rendition of “Journey Through The Dark”.

The headline slot belonged to Sabaton and the extravaganza they put on stage, where they recounted in an impressive way the historical events that inspired them and made them one of the biggest names in power metal. From the opening “Ghost Division” to “Coat of Arms” that closed the night, the Swedes set the stage of Plateia Nerou, literally, on fire and delighted the audience that danced, sang and paddled (!) as you can see in this unbelievable photostory of the eleventh day of Release Athens 2022.
