On Saturday, June 25th, we experienced a great celebration of the Greek rock scene by Paidi Trauma, who impressed us in their first appearance at Release Athens, and the grand return of two great artists, Pavlos Pavlidis and Giannis Angelakas.

The warm-up belonged to the quartet of Paidi Trauma, who proved that this is a truly special project, a group that has found a personal language, has a stage presence and, of course, has already written some of the most beautiful songs of the last 5 years.

We then saw Pavlos Pavlidis with his new band, Hotel Alaska, in a special performance filled with songs from his entire career. “Basilias ths skonhs”, “Moxa”, “Fwtia sto limani”, “Twra arxizw kai thumamai”, “To karabi” and lots of other classics that capped Pavlidis’ triumphant performance at Plateia Nerou.

The finale belonged to Giannis Aggelakas and 100°C, who took the stage by storm. Aggelakas’ impressively tight band, in their two-hour set played a series of great songs from the past (“Thumamai ena spiti”, “Dwsmoy ligh akoma agaph”, “Giorti”, “O xamenos ta pairnei ola” etc.), from their latest album (“Exwkefia”, “Akouw ton ourano na gelaei” etc.) until the grand finale with “Taksidiara Psyxi” and the endless singalong from the crowd who flooded Plateia Nerou.

The doors of Release Athens will always be open for these unsurpassed artists who every time leave everything on the stage.
