Release Athens 2022: Photo-story Day 4

Manowar’s big return to Release Athens after their triumph in 2019, was as expected by the thousands of fans who flooded Plateia Nerou.

Early on, thousands of spectators paid tribute to Meden Agan who gave their best, and the follow up with symphonic metallers, Rhapsody of Fire kept upping the intensity of the day.

Rotting Christ delivered a… hellish performance, proving their greatness again with Sakis Tolis giving the cue!

Orson Welles’ now famous phrase “ladies and gentlemen, from the United States Of America, all hail Manowar” was just the trigger for two hours that will be unforgettable. With surprise appearances on stage by James Cosmo, Konstantinos Kazakos and Chiara Tricarico we heard the long awaited “The Revenge Of Odysseus” in its world premiere.

“Warriors Of The World United” , “Sign Of The Hammer”, “Hail And Kill”, “Battle Hymn” were heard in all their glory with Joey DeMaio and the sensational Eric Adams thanking the best metal audience!
